Soledad Día de Muertos edition blends three Tequilas
13 October 2026 By Miona Madsen
I & A Agave Spirits' Soledad Tequila has unveiled a blend containing 13-year-old extra añejo Tequila in celebration of the Day of the Dead.
Mexico celebrates Día de Muertos on 1 and 2 November.
The limited edition Soledad Edición Janitzio honours the annual celebrations on the small island of Janitzio, on Lake Pátzcuaro in the Mexican state of Michoacán.
"Janitzio on Día de Muertos is one of the most joyful celebrations in Mexico," said Pablo Antinori, co-founder and director of agave spirits at I & A Agave Spirits. "We wanted a Tequila worthy of that night. Blending a 13-year-old Tequila into this joven gives it the depth and patience the occasion deserves."
Product Details
Edición Janitzio is made with 100% puro de agave Tequila and bottled at 40% ABV.
It comprises un-aged blanco Tequila blended with añejo and 13-year-old extra añejo Tequilas, both of which were aged in new American oak barrels.
On the palate, the expression offers notes of caramel, butterscotch, peppers, and orange zest, with sweet agave nuances on the finish.
Limited to 300 bottles, the edition comes in a box featuring a depiction of the candlelit island of Janitzio and includes a candle to light on the ofrenda, a traditional altar built to honour the deceased during Día de Muertos.
"In Janitzio, Día de Muertos is a party, with music, food and family all night long," added Brian Ashcraft, I & A Agave Spirits senior director of brands. "Edición Janitzio is our way of raising a glass with the ones who came before."
Availability and Pricing
Soledad Edición Janitzio is available now in Texas through select retailers and on the brand's website, with a suggested retail price of US$249.99 for a 750ml bottle.
Beyond limited releases, Soledad's range includes Joven, Dos Barricas, and the 8-Year Extra Añejo.
Last month, I & A Agave Spirits launched a high-ABV limited expression under its Socorro Tequila brand, titled Blanco 110 Singular Edición Tequila.
