Impression Isla Mujeres becomes Hyatt's Unbound Collection's first all-inclusive resort

Impression Isla Mujeres has joined The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, retaining its adults-only, all-inclusive offering. Hyatt announced the move on November 2, 2026, during the collection's 10th anniversary year; travel-industry outlet Upgraded Points identified the 123-suite Caribbean property as its first all-inclusive member.

Reservations and loyalty benefits continue

The change leaves Hyatt's Endless Privileges offering and the resort's established amenities and experiences in place. According to Hyatt's all-inclusive booking page, existing reservations will be honored at their confirmed rates, hotel operations will continue without disruption, and World of Hyatt members can still earn and redeem points under the program's terms.

For award bookings, Impression Isla Mujeres remains in Category F of Hyatt's all-inclusive chart, Upgraded Points reported. A night for two people costs 45,000 to 85,000 World of Hyatt points.

The resort opened in May 2023 as an Impression by Secrets property. Upgraded Points said it has dropped the Secrets name, leaving Impression Moxché by Secrets in Playa del Carmen as the only hotel still carrying the Impression by Secrets brand.

Guests reach the resort aboard an exclusive catamaran departing from Marina Hacienda del Mar, according to Hyatt's booking page. The crossing takes about 45 minutes, and guests must reserve the catamaran at least 72 hours ahead.

An island setting with established amenities

Near Punta Sur at the southern tip of Mexico's Isla Mujeres, the resort overlooks the Caribbean Sea. Hyatt describes its naturally sheltered location as seldom affected by sargassum. The island's name means Island of Women, and its heritage is associated with Ixchel, the Maya goddess of fertility, healing and the moon.

Private terraces are standard across the suites, many of which face the Caribbean or the nearby coastline. The interiors use natural materials and organic textures within a contemporary color palette. Guests also have access to private Mayan soaking tubs, infinity pools and personalized butler service.

Dining spans seven restaurants, with Italian, pan-Asian, Mexican and Mediterranean cooking as well as grilled dishes. The à la carte selection includes tacos, seafood, steak, teppanyaki and wood-fired pizza. Five bars and lounges offer coffee, drinks at a swim-up bar and rooftop cocktails, with a wine selection of 17 labels.

The wellness facilities have been enhanced with TRX equipment, yoga hammocks and wellness cabanas. At PURE Spa by Impression Isla Mujeres, the treatment menu includes massages, facials, hydrotherapy and salon services. A Hammam and Floatarium are also available.

The property's awards predate its entry into the collection. They include a 2026 AAA Five Diamond designation, a place on AAA's Top 10 Hotels list and Luxury Travel Advisor's Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World title in both 2024 and 2025.

Local art and marine conservation

Mexican artist César López Negrete, architect Javier Uma and marine-life artist Wyland have contributed to the resort's design, connecting its appearance with Mexican culture and the island's landscape and marine environment.

The resort has allocated a share of room revenue to the nonprofit Saving Our Sharks Foundation since opening in 2023. Through that ongoing partnership, it has hosted snorkeling and shark-tagging excursions for guests while supporting local fishing communities and alternative livelihoods for fishers leaving shark fishing.

Hyatt's booking page also identifies several sustainability measures on the property: water heated using solar panels, an on-site glass bottling plant and no single-use plastics.

Experiences and expansion in the collection's anniversary year

Established in 2016, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brings together independent hotels and resorts selected for their individual character and stories. In a September 29, 2026, release, Hyatt named Impression Isla Mujeres among the properties set to offer an enriched experience program. The company said the collection would launch the initiative in 2026, focusing on rare, curated experiences rooted in each destination.

Recent additions to the collection include Thailand's THE BARAI HUA HIN and France's Hôtel Palais de la Méditerranée, along with The Georgian in Santa Monica, Hotel 1000 in Seattle and The Clayfield in Ontario.

Hyatt's April 6, 2026, release also outlined plans for the 218-suite Cayo Levantado Resort in the Dominican Republic to join in summer 2026. That release identified The Digby in Savannah, Georgia, as a planned 2027 addition. Casa Duhau in Mendoza, Argentina, is expected to join in late 2027.
