What we cover and how
HoyMX covers Mexico for an English-speaking audience across five sections: National News & Politics, Business & Economy, States & Regions, Travel & Living, and Culture, Food & Heritage.
Our political coverage is factual and non-partisan. We report on the presidency, Congress, elections, security and US-Mexico relations based on what is happening, not what we think should happen. We do not endorse candidates or parties.
Our business coverage tracks the Mexican economy, the peso, trade, nearshoring, energy and major companies. We use official sources — Banxico, INEGI, Secretaría de Economía — and direct response from companies.
Our States & Regions coverage goes beyond Mexico City. We report from Baja, the northern border, the Bajío, the Pacific and Gulf coasts, the Yucatán — the diversity of the country.
Safety and security reporting
Mexico's security environment requires particular care. We report on crime and security based on official data, credible NGO reporting and direct accounts. We do not publish information that could endanger sources or journalists.
